It is RIDICULOUS!!! AhhhH! lol. No seriously. If I quit one addiction (facebook) I find another (Yahoo Answers)..if I quite this..I find something else..OR..I must google online ALL DAY long incessantly…for random crap.

I wasn’t allowed online much as a kid…and I didn’t have a computer until I hit 21..now I have my own laptop. I am 23 and about to turn 24 and I live in NYC.

The economy SUCKS..so I can’t afford to spend mula on going on..it is TOOO expensive here..and the weather almost ALWAYS sucks…so I find myself effin around on the internet all day long!

HELP! This is such an unhealthy addiction? What can I do? Taking a walk is not always an option etc.

I honestly think that I have an internet addiction too. I get on the computer first thing in the morning and then throughout the day I check things on my computer. During the evening I keep my laptop with me as I watch TV.
Our connection died back in the winter one night. My wife told me that the router had died, so I drove 25 minutes to a Wal Mart on a weeknight, even though I had to go to work early in the morning. When I got home I worked on getting the connection back for over an hour. When I couldn’t get it working I was furious the rest of the night!

I don’t really know how unhealthy this kind of addiction really is. Now, if I lived in NYC I would definitely find stuff to get out and do, but I understand not having much money to spend.

Really, the computer has become a big part of our daily lives. I pay my bills online, I communicate online, I do some of my shopping, I read the news, and I find the answer to any question I have. People used to do all that stuff in the library.

You still need real human interaction, and not just on the computer. You should still get out of the house, spend time with friends and see the world outside. Living in NYC you have plenty of free and cheap entertainment available to you. Consider yourself lucky and don’t miss out on all the great opportunities of that city!

Personally I enjoy my internet addiction. It’s legal, it won’t cut years off my life, it’s affordable, and I don’t have to go to the bad part of town to find a guy selling internet connection! Relax!

TURN IT OFF. I use a rewards system, if I do some job I dislike I allow myself something I want. I also never go direct to answers, I only get in there when answering a question from someone in my network, of poor misguided people who added me to theirs. Everyone is entitled to my opinion 😀 But I have better things to do than preach to the choir. I just like to make people think, to consider the side of the story they are not hearing. I also only get online when I can’t do anything outside, or when I’m taking a break and having a drink or eating a meal, and sometimes I get carried away, the food gets cold and the dogs who clean my dishes get impatient for me to finish. So yes, it can be addicting. You just have to set a timer for a certain amount of minutes or something.
